The Latest Free Pattern Download

I made this quilt in a matter of hours from some new fabrics I picked up from Hoffman. The collection is called Naturescapes and I have just uploaded the pdf file for you to download the pattern for free. As usual kits are available to order through the website to make the quilt.

Im just getting ready for the last quilt show of the year at Chilford Halls near Cambridge. It has been a busy few weeks what with the European Quilt Championships in Holland and the Malvern Autumn show last weekend. I hope to design a few more quilt patterns as the year draws to a close before things start with a vengence in January with my online fabric sale and the quilt shows start again in February.

Free Patterns and New Fabrics!!

I have just designed a new web page which features FREE patterns for you to download. The quilts use fabrics currently in stock and I have also put some kits together for you. The intructions are in .pdf format so you should have no trouble accessing them.
New patterns will appear regularly as and when I take delivery of new fabrics. The quilts will usually be straight forward and suitable for beginners upwards. I like to get the fabric to do the hard work for you to make a quilt look more difficult than it is!
Visit the website at to see whats available now.

New fabrics I have just uploaded include the Wave collection from Fabri- Quilt and Gilded Opulence from Benartex.
The Wave is a very versatile collection that can be used very simply in the Breaking Waves quilt as seen in one of last month's postings but can also be used to great effect in small scale piecing.

Gilded Opulence is a second Opulence collection by Paula Nadelstern but this time has the richness of gold added to it. The symmetrical nature of the fabrics lend themselves to lots of piecing possiblities.

I have just returned from the Scottish Quilt Championships. The next show is the European Championships in Waalre, Holland during half term week. I always fly to this event as there is a direct flight from Stansted to Eindhoven and the airport is only about 20 minutes drive away from the venue so if you fancy visiting a show with a difference.....see you there!

Its Finished at Last (well almost)

I have finally finished this year's block of the month quilt, Grannie's Butterflies. I say almost finished because I need to add some flowers for the butterflies but you can get the gist of what the quilt looks like from this picture. The full details of the block of the month programme can be found on the site at http://www.craftyquilter.co.uk/bom.htm where you can also sign up online through the secure online store.
I have had a few ordering problems on the site this week all that has been sorted now.
Im leaving for France in the morning to visit the Carrefour du Patchwork in St Marie aux Mines. This is a wonderful show in the Alsace region of France which is housed in churches and all kinds of other buildings in four different villages in a valley. It is a show I usually trade at but unfortunately had to cancel due to my father's ill health. It should be a good weekend and on my return I will be getting ready for the next quilt show in the UK which will be the Scottish Quilt Championships at the end of this month.

New Quilt Kit

I've tried to be busy since returning from the Festival of Quilts and have made this quilt using the wonderful Wave fabrics that I have in stock. It is another quick quilt to make in my Afternoon Tea quilt series. I am just writing the instructions to make it now but thought you would like a sneak preview of it. I am hoping to make the instructions available in a pdf format for you to download from the website. The fabrics will also be appearing on the site soon
